NATSHOOT COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS OF PSIRA REGULATIONS

Dear Member,

Natshoot has had two opportunities to enter comments on the already severely and publicly opposed amendments to the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Act, as was published in Government Gazette No. 52388 dated 28 March 2025.

The first opportunity was presented through Martin Hood, whose offices compiled a well written response in opposition to the proposed amendments in the names of Natshoot, PHASA, PFTC, SAAADA, SA Hunters, and SA Wingshooters.

The second opportunity was our own response in opposition to the proposed amendments

to the PSIRA Regulations.

In general, there are serious opposition to the acceptance of the proposed amendments as it is clear that if accepted, the security situation re prevention of criminality will be much worse than it is currently.  SAPS is clearly not capable to render the security service needed to curtail the high level of criminality we are experiencing

To us at Natshoot, public safety and the fight against criminality is paramount.  Any attempt to curtail the functionality of the private security services in our country, cannot be accepted for as long as SAPS cannot render the same security services.

Please remain safe and be aware of your surroundings

Kind regards

Natshoot Office
